What is the UkrSEPRO compliance system?
- the UkrSEPRO certification system is the former Ukrainian national certification, standardization and metrology system that operated in Ukraine from 1996 to 2017 inclusive
- the organizational structure of the UkrSEPRO system included more than 140 specialized certification bodies and more than 800 specialized testing laboratories
- the “State committee of Ukraine on technical regulation and consumer policy” and the “Ukrainian research Institute of standardization, certification and Informatics” were the key bodies regulating the activities of the UkrSEPRO system
- from January 1, 2018, reorganization and structural changes took place in the system of national certification of the quality of goods and services of Ukraine, which became the beginning of the process of harmonization of the Ukrainian certification system in accordance with the unified world standards systems
- a noticeable consequence of these changes that took place was the cessation of the use of the former name of the national certification system of Ukraine — “UkrSEPRO compliance system”
- from this moment on, the national certification system of Ukraine continues its work under a new name – “Voluntary certification system of Ukraine”
- The abbreviation “UkrSEPRO” familiar to us and known to the whole world has ceased to be used
- the main reason for the termination of the national certification system of Ukraine in its former format was the need to harmonize it with the global world community in the field of standardization and metrology
Is it necessary to obtain a certificate of conformity of UkrSEPRO nowadays?
- from January 1, 2018, the issuance of certificates of compliance and other official documents within the framework of the UkrSEPRO compliance system has been discontinued
- certificates of conformity and other documentation issued before January 1, 2018 are fully legitimate until the expiration date of this documentation
- in the future, compliance with the standards and norms of product quality and safety must be confirmed within the framework of the current national certification system of Ukraine
